THEATRE ROYAL AND ROYAL CONCERT HALL – SPRING SEASON 2014 ANNOUNCED

The newly announced spring season’s programme of events at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall Nottingham is bursting with compelling drama, inspirational music and spellbinding dance to really help shake off those winter blues.

Theatre fans will relish the drama unfolding this season with gems such as BRASSED OFF, DIAL M FOR MURDER and Alan Ayckbourn’s THE THINGS WE DO FOR LOVE starring Natalie Imbruglia alongside THE TWO WORLDS OF CHARLIE F, an emotionally stirring play performed by serving and veteran soldiers.

On a lighter note,  the award-winning comedienne SARAH MILLICAN and the legendary FRANK SKINNER both bring their sell-out stand-up shows to the Royal Concert Hall this spring, whilst the West End smash hit comedy THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG and THE DISHWASHERS, starring David Essex, come to the Theatre Royal.

Other big names confirmed to appear at the Royal Concert Hall this spring include SUSAN BOYLE, SHANE FILAN, RUSSELL WATSON, DON BLACK, DANIEL O’DONNELL, NEIL FINN and TORI AMOS.  Rock legend RICK WAKEMAN presents his classic album JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH and iconic band THE SEEKERS bring their 50th anniversary tour to the venue in May.  Other musical highlights include THE OVERTONES, CLANNAD & MARY BLACK, RUNRIG, plus multi-platinum selling 80s rock band FOREIGNER performing with special guests EUROPE. Psychic to the stars, SALLY MORGAN, returns with her ever-popular stage show and TV baker extraordinaire PAUL HOLLYWOOD presents an evening of baking, demos and audience participation.

DERREN BROWN’s new INFAMOUS show is already proving a popular choice, with his week-long visit to the Theatre Royal in May already nearly sold out. Blockbusting musicals WEST SIDE STORY and CATS return to Nottingham this spring.  These two classic musicals changed the face of musical history for ever.  Catch them if you can.

Enchanting scenes are guaranteed with the return of Matthew Bourne’s SWAN LAKE and, for family audiences, TOM’S MIDNIGHT GARDEN, in April.

Opera North return to the Theatre Royal in March with a programme of stunning music from Verdi, Puccini, Brel and Piaf. The Royal Concert Hall will also play host to some glorious and uplifting classical music this season, including Rachmaninov’s First Piano Concerto performed by the VIENNA TONKÜNSTLER ORCHESTRA, an all-American programme from the ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA and the legendary conductor and pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy leading the PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA.  Other classical highlights include MOSCOW PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA featuring the world-renowned cellist Natalie Clein and THE HALLÉ, under conductor Sir Mark Elder, performing Mahler’s Ninth Symphony.  Local talent is showcased with performances from NOTTINGHAM PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA and NOTTINGHAM YOUTH ORCHESTRA.

In my early days I had a passion for video games of all kinds, which lead to myself and a number of close friends and family creating a gaming clan and community called UKRockers. After 10 years UKRockers disbanded which lead to myself and brother (RockerJarvis) creating ItsMuchMore.

I still enjoy playing games now can be anything from retro, indie to today’s biggest and best titles, it isn’t just computer or video games that I enjoy doing I also like to go to the Theatre and Cinema.
