The tour titled the same as Ronan Keating’s latest album ‘Fires’ , having listened to the album a number of times now and having already done my review on the album (here) i was ‘Fired’ up for the tour
Although not being a massive Ronan fan for as long as my partner has I thought this album was great and each and every song on the album feels like its already been in the charts and spent a number of years on the radio stations across the globe but they haven’t which is crazy as it feels like they have as you can sing a long to every word.
So the concert starts and of course opened with the tour title song ‘fires’ the crowd went wild and everyone was on their feet singing along ,because this was Ronan’s comeback tour I didn’t know what to expect but I knew he would want to come back with a bang and with Ronan its all about the voice and being able to see the live band playing every song, none of the songs were mimed they were all sung live.
Songs being played from nearly all of his albums and some special treats as well for fans just hearing the songs again that made Mr Keatings rise to stardom the new album fires draws new fans for starters me being one because of my partner who has liked Mr Keating for sometime and now I have got on that Band Wagon as I have liked the first two released songs from the album.
Ronan wanted to go back and do a pop album which meant the years of experience learnt from past albums meant Ronan’s voical chords where well in tune just listen to the song ‘Wasted Lives’ , also we all know Ronan likes to hold his notes for a given length of time … whats his record? 18 Seconds or something like that??
‘Easy Now My Dear’ silenced the whole concert hall at Nottingham with Ronan’s powerful Irish voice which during this song was note prefect, the same can be said for the song titled ‘Scars’, just listening to every word sung by Ronan you can tell that when he co wrote ‘Scars’ within the lyrics that you could tell he was going through a rough patch which he also said to the crowd that this song was wrote during the eye of the storm when everything was going on in his life, I felt that this song really got us to hear what real ‘Scars’ Ronan has been left with be it personal life or be it being back on the road with the gang of Boyzone and the loss of band member and close friend Stephen Gatley career, after the final note of was sung the crowd gave a outstanding ovation.
Some venues where also offering a special bonus fires live CD of the whole concert venues included Bristol , Manchester and London’s 02 Arena some of the tour venues where visited by a special guest who is a kind of ‘brother’ to Ronan and sung with him on stage which of course the crowd went crazy for but I will keep that surprise for you to find out yourself if you are still waiting to see Ronan perform live a town near you.
The concert as a whole was a great evening , the crowd got involved by singing along and clapping as well as showing their support for Ronan during his speech about being back on the road, if you want to hear pure vocals and every note sung perfectly seeing Ronan Keating live is what you want to do and I can safely say that I am glad I went along as I haven’t been to a Ronan or a Boyzone concert I am now a fan and will go see him again solo or part of Boyzone.
