Grease is the word well it certainly was with all the groves and meaning of cause the cast really put on a lightening of a show a greased lightening in fact leaving the packed Royal Concert Hall wanting more. The production seemed to be more of a scaled down version from the London’s west end as well as the last time it toured Nottingham with many parts of the performance being changed or cut down , left some die hard fans confused but still enjoyed the evening.
If you don’t know already the story is about two teenagers who met during the summer holidays who had ‘Summer Lovin’ but when they parted ways they thought they wouldn’t seen each other again until Sandy turned up at Danny’s high school but Danny had a image to retain and liking girls and doing all that mushy stuff just wasn’t cool for our cool cat so this made Sandy upset and trying to fit into a new high school she joined a group of friends known as the pink ladies where even they made fun of her but Sandy would have the last laugh and prove to everyone even Danny that is was electrifying. With all the songs for the movie everyone could sing-a-long to had that feel good feeling about it the dance movies also were on par with the west end and movie production , the only seemed to be a few problems with the sound such as the mic’s on the actors couldn’t hear them in parts over the live band there was also local program on offer for the Royal Concert Hall Nottingham only the national tour one and a group of woman sat behind us the whole time laughing and talking loud kind nearly ruined it for us but we tried to not that annoy us too much.
All in all it was a great night and it was one of the better musical’s to go and see if you get the chance whether you have seen it before or seen the film or not seen any of them it is a great way to end a evening or start it depending on the night your having !!
“It is a MUST SEE”
Pros – Its Grease | Its Electrifying | The Songs | Good Acting | Enjoyable All Round
Cons – Changed Scenes | Major Scenes Cut Down | Scaled Down Version Against West End Version
