Elvis is back in the building! The O2 Arena London is the location again for The Elvis Exhibition, it’s the same spot as to where items from Graceland visited a couple of years ago, having previously attended that exhibition a number of times I was really looking forward to seeing what was in store for this new exhibition with items from the tour years.
I can say it didn’t disappoint! There were a vast amount of jumpsuits , outfits and also other items from the tours such as receipts showing how much certain items cost on the tour and written lyrics of my favourite Elvis Presley song ‘American Trilogy’.
When you arrive you are handed a oversized remote control and some headphones, these are used throughout the exhibition, as a number of sections are numbered where you have to stop and then start the audio to have commentary or just explain a certain piece of clothing or item throughout the exhibition, there are also television screens showing off interviews and concert material.
The only the real difference from the previous visit, was having to walk around with this remote control and having to wear a headset and mess around with stopping and starting the audio tracks, it didn’t seem to flow as well as previous years because of this as I was hunting around for the numbers instead of soaking in the amazing items that were setup around me, that being said I decided to go round and listen to all the audio tracks and then went around again without playing the audio tracks just to take a better look at everything and grab some photo opportunities.
Best parts of the exhibition was once again having a nice cinema concert experience at the end as well as very interesting to see how everything was packed and ready for a tour in a suitcase.
The section dedicated to the new albums with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was great, after leaving the exhibition it once again leads right into a gift shop where you will find items from Graceland itself and exclusive items for the 02 Arena which you won’t find anywhere else.
This will make a perfect gift for an Elvis Presley fan or even some who appreciates music and how Elvis changed music forever.
Without Elvis, there would be no Beatles”, John Lennon
