Co-produced by Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev, The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala), ‘Dizzy Heights’ was recorded between Finn’s Roundhead studio in Auckland and Fridmann’s Tarbox studio in upstate New York. The record is Neil Finn’s third solo outing following, Try Whistling This and One Nil (or One All). “I didn’t want to make it a solo record in a stripped back singer-songwriter sort of way,” says Finn. “I had a feeling Dave would be good at adding some odd shapes to the music. Which I always welcome – making things a little more expansive. He is good at subverting things, and making things sound a bit messed up and not as obvious, rather than being too tasteful, which is always a temptation.”

Finn traveled in two bursts to Fridmann’s Tarbox Road studio in upstate New York. With Fridmann, and in occasional collaboration with New Zealand musicians Connan Mockasin and SJD, Finn has assembled a textured, heady sound, furnished and elevated by woozy strings and soaring vocals. A short film for the album track ‘Divebomber’ recently premiered on LA Times’ website: http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-78014770/

The film was made by Finn, after some images taken from the window of a plane abutted with footage of kids jumping into the sea in Greece. These grainy images play over the whirl of “Divebomber” a song inspired by the World War II film of the same name.

‘Dizzy Heights’ track listing:
1. Impressions      7. White Lies and Alibis
2. Dizzy Heights      8. Recluse
3. Flying In The Face of Love    9. Strangest Friends
4. Divebomber      10. In My Blood
5. Better Than TV      11. Lights of New York
6. Pony Ride

In my early days I had a passion for video games of all kinds, which lead to myself and a number of close friends and family creating a gaming clan and community called UKRockers. After 10 years UKRockers disbanded which lead to myself and brother (RockerJarvis) creating ItsMuchMore.

I still enjoy playing games now can be anything from retro, indie to today’s biggest and best titles, it isn’t just computer or video games that I enjoy doing I also like to go to the Theatre and Cinema.
