As Frank Sinatra once said ‘And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, I’ll say it clear, I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain.’ and that end is this Month, with OnLive services shutting its doors on April 30th, we thought here at ItsMuchMore its time for a farewell weekend, so instead of at the end of the Month, when anything could happen (as the press release says ‘should stay interrupted until 30th’, doesn’t sound promising, starting this weekend from Friday 10th – Sunday 12th April, and each weekend throughout the month of April, we will be heading around various OnLive game, for a little piece of that final pie.
Here’s what we will be looking at playing over the 3 upcoming days
Friday will be cloudlift titles, so expect some great Steam enabled games, with the likes of Gauntlet on the forefront. Saturday will be PlayPack and PlayPass games with anything from Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 (Local Multiplayer), to Dirt 3, and well Sunday, that will be a mixture of all formats and games, so just expect anything.
Look for us on the following games
– Alien Vs Predator
– Crazy Taxi
– Darksiders 2
– Flatout 2
– Guilty Gear Isuka
– Hitman : Blood Money
– Just Cause 2
– Moto GP 13
– Prince of Persia
– Tomb Raider Anniversary
– The Witcher 2
– Dirt 3
– Kane & Lynch 2
– Pro Evolution Soccer 2012
– Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
– Virtua Tennis 2009
– WRC 3
We will also be playing OnLive towards the final days and we will be there recording if they have a farewell message
Here’s the email that was sent out from Onlive about the upcoming closure.
Dear OnLive Gamer,
After five years of uninterrupted service, the OnLive Game Service will be coming to an end. Sony is acquiring important parts of OnLive, and their plans don’t include a continuation of the game service in its current form.
As the first-ever game streaming service of its kind, everyone who has ever played a game using OnLive has contributed to the technology and its evolution in some way. We’re immensely proud of what’s been achieved and extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for being a part of the OnLive Game Service. For more information, please see our FAQ section.
Thank you from all of us at –
OL2, Inc. (aka, OnLive)
You know what, it has been a hell of a ride over the last 5 years, there has been lots and lots of down, but its had its fair share of exciting ups, and reality, the service itself was ahead of its time, and im still sure aspects will be the future of gaming, be it with Sony, Microsoft, GOG, Steam, or any other type of streaming service, Lets hope that for the time being Sony take all the good bits they have purchased, and make it a fine fine product,
