Download 2014 lineup is already shaping up nicely, with all three headline acts announced for over the three day event next year. On a personal note I’m pretty happy. We have a great mix of new and old rock, nu metal acts and even a little horror metal to appease the devil in you.
Friday Night at Donnington Park will be headlined by Californian metal band, Avenged Sevenfold, which will be their first ever UK headline slot at an UK festival. Horror metal favourite Rob Zombie will also be appearing on the main stage on the Friday, to give his fans a real show to look forward to.
Saturday nights line up for me looks excellent. First off, the main headliners will be Chester Bennington and Co, with Linkin Park taking to the stage in the evening, and will be having something a little different in store for fans, as instead of a greatest hits, the California nu metal band will be playing the whole track listing from their 2000 breakthrough album Hybrid Theory. Direct support to Linkin Park will be Fall Out Boy, who since getting back together in 2012 after a few years hiatus, they are back rocking to the world, and I’m looking forward to some of their early hits, as well as tracks off their latest album, Save Rock and Roll, which have some awesome kicking tunes.
Going onto Sunday, and to close the show, its going to be a special night, as the UK welcome back US rockers Aerosmith for the first time in 4 years. Fortunately we were able to see Aerosmith at Hyde Park Calling in 2007, and they were outstanding, so I’m hoping for another great night, come a raining Sunday evening in 2014. Main support to Aerosmith on the Sunday night will be Orlando rockers Alter Bridge. Alter Bridge last played at Download in 2011 and recently released their 4th studio album, which reached number 6 in the album charts.
