
Survey reveals over 18.5 million people in the UK (37% adults 18+) will buy a Blu-ray Disc or DVD as a gift for their loved ones this Christmas.
Nearly half of those adults surveyed intending to buy a Blu-ray Disc or DVD will do so for a child (43%).
Family titles Despicable Me 2 and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey top the ‘Most Wanted’ DVD gift list this Christmas.
The Hobbit, Breaking Bad and Star Trek Into Darkness top men’s wish-lists and Despicable Me 2, Les Misérables and Monsters University top women’s wish-lists.
To mark 15 years of DVD gift giving this Christmas, a new consumer survey carried out on behalf of the British Video Association reveals over a third of UK adults (37%) are buying Blu-ray Discs and DVDs as gifts which indicates an estimated 18.5 million people will be wrapping them this Christmas.
When asked who they intend to buy Blu-ray Discs and DVDs for, most shoppers said they intend to give them to a child (43%), followed by partner (38%), parent (18%), sibling (13%), and friend (12%).
The survey also asked shoppers to rate their ‘Most Wanted’ entertainment titles this festive season.
