From the return of acclaimed drama and comedy hits, Line Of Duty and The Wrong Mans, to a major new season about women’s history and documentaries offering extraordinary access into some very different aspects of British life, BBC Two has today announced a raft of new commissions to mark its 50th anniversary.
The finale of the second series of Line of Duty, starring Keeley Hawes and Vicky McClure, was watched by 4.1 million viewers last month.
Writer Jed Mercurio said he was “profoundly grateful” to fans for making the show such a “talking point”.
Other commissions include a new series of James Corden’s The Wrong Mans.
Both Corden and co-creator Mathew Baynton were nominated for TV Baftas earlier this week for their performances in the comedy thriller.
