The World’s Most Popular Game Candy Crush Saga Launches on ‘Kakao Talk’ in Korea

King, the world’s leading cross-platform, bite-sized games company, today announces the launch of ‘Candy Crush Saga for Kakao’, the Kakao game platform version of their hit casual game Candy Crush Saga.

This is a significant partnership, exclusive to the Korean market, that will see the world’s most popular casual game launching on Korea‘s leading free mobile messenger application, a platform which has more than 110 million users.

Already played by over 15.5 million people across the world each day on Facebook, where it is the number one game, and played over 700 million times a day on Android and iOS devices, Candy Crush Saga’s global growth continues with this launch on Kakao.

Candy Crush Saga offers a unique and social way of playing match-3 puzzles by providing users with multiple layers of excitement and enjoyment. With well over 400 levels packed with enticing challenges, delivered in manageable ‘bite-sized’ portions and complimented by slick and colourful production, this game has proven universal appeal.

“In ‘Candy Crush Saga for Kakao’ King has developed exclusive features that specifically fit to the mobile messenger based SNS ‘Kakao Talk’ and bring a unique and fun social gaming experience to its millions of subscribers across Korea.” said Tommy Palm, Games Guru at King. “For the first time Kakao users will be able to fully immerse themselves in all aspects of the social world of Candy Crush Saga, from sending requests to friends via ‘Kakao Talk’s’ chat, to sharing quirky emoticons which have been exclusively developed for Kakao.”

Kakao’s Game Business Director, Seung Whan Vahn said: “We’re extremely excited to have the world’s biggest game, Candy Crush Saga, launch on Kakao and are confident it will be as loved by the Kakao community as it is by the rest of the world.”
