gots56renewalIn the most unsurprising but geek pleasingly piece of renewal news ever, Game Of Thrones has been renewed for both Season 5 and Season 6. Having only just premiered with Season 4 on Sunday in the US (over 6.5 million viewers on HBO – biggest since The Sopranos finale in 2007) and Monday in the UK, we are going to be getting a lot more GoT for the years to come. Here’s hoping it continues to be as good as it has been from the start….

“‘Game of Thrones’ is a phenomenon like no other,” network president Michael Lombardo said in the announcement Tuesday afternoon. “[Creators] David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, along with their talented collaborators, continue to surpass themselves, and we look forward to more of their dazzling storytelling.”

Like said its no surprise that Game Of Thrones has been renewed, as the likes of HBO, and its other airing networks like Sky Atlantic in the UK, are loving the massive numbers this show is pulling in, and its talking points that this show brings. Game Of Thrones is such a massive hit, its always the most trending and talked about subject on the likes of Twitter and Facebook after the episodes air, so with the 2 more season renewal, its showing big faith to the creators of the show, and the showrunners can really write and plan ahead for many episodes, and get the story just how they want without any filming schedule issues.
